Welcome to Belcanto
Standard Poodles! We are interested in health, excellent
temperament, correct structure and performance ability. To those
ends, we have been importing select individuals from Europe who will
complement our pedigrees and, hopefully, help to contribute to the
improvement of the health of Standard Poodles in America. Please
review our dogs in the OFA Health Database. Our dogs have superb
temperament -- everyone sleeps in my huge master bedroom at
night. Truly correct structure is a must for dogs competing in
performance. They are athletes and will not survive the rigors
of trialing every weekend without correct structure. We show in
the breed ring and performance, with our primary focus being on
performance and working ability.
Finally, we're different than many breeders who tell you that certain
of their dogs are good performance prospects. We know they are
because we have one of the pup's parents and parent's titled to prove
it! Our primary agility focus is in NADAC and USDAA with
occasional AKC agility trials (there are only 52 weekends in a
year!). We also do the Puppy Aptitude Test at 49 days of age,
administered by a certified instructor.
